VALERIANA

"Valeriana" critically engages with cultural misogyny in the rural Peruvian Andes. The performance is inspired by the events that led composer Miguel Angel Hurtado to write the Quechua version of one of the most famous examples of Andean folk music. The melody of the huayno "Valicha" is the musical core of the choreographic narrative.

Choreographer: Carlos Díaz

Dancers: Diana Mora, Carlos Díaz

MULANS

Mulan is the most iconic of female images within Chinese literature. She disguises herself as a male soldier to go into battle as a replacement for her elderly father. The solo performance "Mulans" is based on a research of the history of feminism in China and the movement-aesthetic self-discovery of the performer Yinfu Gao, who opens a dialogue between herself and Mulan with the question: How do I emancipate myself as a woman?

THE SAD-MAD METHOD

She does not know what has happened.

Sad-Mad Method is a journey spun by popcorn. A story about hate and self-love. Conversations about stepping out when you're down. A personal transformation, covered in dirt and confetti.

Directed by: Carla Sisteré

Performers: Anna Sagrera, Carla Sisteré
