Can we transform states of heaviness into movement? rock bottom is a performance that explores the potential energy of weight, in our bodies and in our overflooded minds.

Against a backdrop of stress, exhaustion and exploited natural resources, the work transforms weight as a rolling stone into a shared force. Two performers travel through a space of weariness, diving deep into their heavy heads, rocking and swaying to their beat. As tectonic plates that are crashing and folding and drifting apart, they are rolling up a hill together. Moving between Hard Rock and deserted landscapes, weight becomes a motor for movement and a source of strength.

Rock Bottom invites the audience to a place where physical sensation and poetic imagery intertwine, allowing bodies, sound and heaviness to resonate through one another.

Rock Bottom is part of Tanz⁵.
