MISSING YOU.

Nowadays, we can talk – even be with someone – without the other person’s bodily presence at all. Do we miss the people we’re talking to? How do we deal with the voids that arise in a world that distances us from one another and disembodies us?

In the modern world, we hardly ever need to meet in person anymore: we chat via messaging apps or video calls, headphones shield us from the outside world, and since the advent of artificial intelligence, we no longer need another person to have a conversation. But isn’t something missing? Nowadays, we can talk – even be with someone – without the other person’s bodily presence at all. Do we miss the people we’re talking to? How do we deal with the voids that arise in a world that distances us from one another and disembodies us? What happens when the connection between people (and their bodies) fades – and what is it about that connection that is so important

Through a participatory performance combining interaction, conversation and dance, we seek to discover what no AI can replace: other human beings.

As part of “Take care! – Festival of Solidarity and Resistance – Artistic projects, alliances of solidarity and critical dialogue in the age of AI and anti-feminism” – A project by the Frankfurt Women’s Office “Take care! – Festival of Solidarity and Resistance” is a decentralised festival that brings together art and feminist questions about the future. The focus is on temporary, performative, collaborative, artistic and activist projects, talks and solidarity gatherings. “Take care!” explores how artists engage with issues such as AI dominance, resource crises and social polarisation, what questions they raise, and what strategies of solidarity and resistance might look like. The festival takes place from August to October at various venues across Frankfurt. It sees itself as a unifying platform and incorporates various projects funded by the Frankfurt Women’s Office into the programme as satellite events.
