GLANZ* is an arena. It is a field. The players take their places on the diving board and the whistle sounds! The game has begun. The fans go wild! Three dancers in colorful sportswear lead the audience through an ever-evolving game with humor, athletic verve, agility, and a dash of glitz and glamour. Whether it's soccer, volleyball, baseball or field hockey, whether they're competing for gold individually or twirling as a team, GLANZ juxtaposes, fuses and abstracts sports movements with contemporary dance. As the dynamic and rhythmic performance unfolds, one is never quite sure whether the ball has landed in one's own court or the other's, or whether it continues to float in the air. In a colorful revue, movement elements from very different sports are explored. These are extracted, abstracted and reassembled. In the process, the real movement sequences are studied and analyzed in detail, in order to then transfer them into a choreography using the means of improvisation. Again and again it is also about competition, losing and winning (being able to) the joy of sports and victory.
