HOW DO WE SHAPE INTIMACY AND PHYSICAL CONTACT IN CONTEMPORARY DANCE SO THAT THEY ARE CONSENT-BASED, CARING, AND SUSTAINABLE? The Exchange LAB by CLOSER WITH CONSENT invites Intimacy Choreographers & Coordinators, dancers, choreographers, and dance educators, for three days of lectures, workshops, and open professional exchange on Intimacy Choreography in contemporary dance. Topics include the current state of Intimacy Choreography (IC) in dance, dance-specific development – including a focus on accessibility – as well as consent-forward dance pedagogy, featuring Zwoisy Maers-Clarke, Birte Opitz, and Nicole Perry, among others. Participation is free of charge and only possible with prior registration (limited number of participants, registration deadline: October 15, 2026). CLOSER WITH CONSENT and the Exchange LAB are supported as part of Next Steps, a program by Bureau Ritter to strengthen dance professionals in Hessen. Funded by the Crespo Foundation.
