CRYING GIRLS SCHOOL OF MOVEMENT AND CRITICAL THINKING
dance workshop on non human bodies
In this workshop, Eva Priečková and Zuzana Žabková explore the body as a site of transformation and speculation, drawing on their performance Crying Girls. Through movement, voice and imagination, we delve into more-than-human perspectives, non-human communication, lamentation and humour. Inspired by the swamp, we experiment with unfamiliar ways of moving, sensing and sounding. Expect frog choruses, hyena laughter, pop, parasympathetic activation and plenty of oral hydration.

In this workshop, Eva Priečková and Zuzana Žabková take their performance Crying Girls as a starting point to explore the body as a site of transformation and speculation.
Through movement, voice, text and imagination, we will explore more-than-human perspectives, non-human communication, bodily transformations, lamentation and humour. Drawing on the soft, wet terrain of the swamp, we will experiment with unfamiliar ways of moving, sensing and sounding.
We summon the litany of frogs and the laughter of hyenas, exchange jaw tension for drooping cheeks and open mouths, and give space to voices that refuse to be silenced.
Expect pop, parasympathetic activation and continuous oral hydration.
Facilitation: Eva Priečková & Zuzana Žabková
