STUDIO ROUND 2025

ID_Tanzhaus Frankfurt Rhein-Main | TanzNetzDresden | Tanznetz Freiburg | Tanzzentrale der Region Nürnberg

The exchange and presentation format by TanzNetzDresden continues its city exchange in 2025:
Together with the partners Tanznetz Freiburg, ID_Tanzhaus Frankfurt Rhein-Main, and Tanzzentrale der Region Nürnberg, four editions will take place between September and December 2025 in Dresden, Nuremberg/ Fürth, Freiburg, and Frankfurt am Main.

STUDIO ROUND is a presentation and exchange format aimed at connecting local artists with artists from the respective partner cities.
Each edition will feature one local contribution and 2–3 guest contributions (solo or duo, between 5 and max. 20 minutes).
The presentations will be accompanied by audience interaction and a Q&A format.
Studios at the respective venues/partner organizations will be available for rehearsals and preparations during the day. Please note that the technical setup will be simple and should be planned with minimal or no set changes. The technical equipment includes a sound system and basic lighting (no scene changes).

Each performer will receive a fee of €350. Travel and accommodation costs for guest artists will be covered by arrangement.

STUDIO ROUND 2025 Dates:

• Saturday, 27 September 2025 at TENZA, Dresden
• Saturday, 11 October 2025 at Tanzzentrale der Region Nürnberg
• Saturday, 29 October 2025 at H15, Freiburg
• Sunday, 7 December 2025 at Frankfurt LAB (tbc)

Submission deadline (please note: applies to ALL editions):
 01 August 2025 at 11:59 PM

Submissions must include:

• Contact information: first name, last name, street and house number, postal code and city, email address, phone number
• Pronouns
• Name of the artist/group
• Title of the piece
• Duration of the piece
• Short description of the piece (max. 1,000 characters)
• Short text for press and public relations (max. 450 characters)
• Availability for the above dates (multiple date options possible)
• Explanation of your motivation (what draws you to this format?) (max. 1,000 characters)
• Information about the artist/short bio(s) (max. 800 characters)
• References in the form of image and/or video material (links only, no downloads)

Application form

The jury will consist of members from TanzNetzDresden, Tanznetz Freiburg, ID_Tanzhaus Frankfurt Rhein-Main, and Tanzzentrale der Region Nürnberg.
The jury's decision will be announced by mid-August. Before the events, there will be a joint online meeting (via Zoom) to go over the schedule and clarify any questions.

POP UP exchange 2025

POP UP exchange returns in 2025: with its well-established presentation format, TanzNetzDresden is launching new collaborations with artists from Tanznetz Freiburg, tanz_netzwerk_bremen, ID_Tanzhaus Frankfurt Rhein-Main, and Tanzzentrale der Region Nürnberg.

POP UP formats are diverse in content and structure. They represent TanzNetzDresden as a network of a heterogeneous, professionally working independent dance scene in Dresden. Through POP UP, we initiate new local collaborations and bring dance to previously unexplored spaces in the city.

For POP UP exchange 2025, we are looking for:

One performer each from Freiburg, Frankfurt am Main, Nuremberg/Fürth, and Bremen.

Four performers from Dresden: Each Dresden-based performer will be paired with a guest from one of the partner cities. These four duos — inspired and surprised by their artistic encounter — will develop short POP UP performances. These are not rehearsed pieces, but rather improvisations shaped through collective decisions using scores, chosen music, or similar tools.

POP UP exchange 2025 – Schedule & Open Call

Saturday, 27 September 2025 is arrival day. We will meet in the early evening for a shared dinner and a first get-together, followed by a group visit to the STUDIO ROUND at TENZA with contributions from Dresden, Freiburg, Nuremberg/ Fürth, and Frankfurt am Main. On Sunday, 28 September 2025, the morning will be reserved for try-outs at Studio TENZA, followed by the POP UP exchanges at different locations across Dresden. The day will end around 4 PM. (Please note: You may not apply for both POP UP exchange and STUDIO ROUND in Dresden.)

Each performer will receive a fee of €350. Travel and accommodation (1–2 nights) for guest artists will be covered. Additional arrangements by agreement.
