We, T.I.A. dance productions, are Amelia Uzategui Bonilla: sighted BIPOC dance artist, Hannah Dewor: white dance artist with visual impairment, and Lilian Korner: blind white access dramaturg.

On November 29 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., we will explore together how dance movement and language can be combined.

Who is it for? This workshop is for anyone who enjoys movement. We invite sighted dancers and choreographers, as well as blind and visually impaired dance enthusiasts. Anyone who is curious about the connection between dance and language is welcome to join us. You may already be familiar with audio description from films or sporting events. But it can do so much more! For blind and visually impaired people, it opens up new ways of perceiving dance and developing it together. This workshop provides an introduction to different ways of using audio description in dance. No prior knowledge is necessary.

Information on accessibility and registration: The workshop will take place on November 29 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm on the 4th floor in rehearsal stage 3. You will receive more information on how to get there after you register. Our access friends can pick you up from the nearest stop and take you back after the event. Assistance dogs are welcome.

To register, please send an email to: tanzintegriertad@gmail.com All together and in lowercase. When registering, please indicate your name and accessibility needs, and also whether you will be bringing your assistance dog to the workshop.

If you wish, please let us know whether you are sighted, visually impaired, or blind, and which pronouns you use. We look forward to exploring new ways to make dance more accessible and barrier-free together.

See you soon!

Amelia, Hannah, and Lilian

This workshop is sponsored by the Autonomous Inclusion Department of Goethe University in collaboration with the Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm.
