Backstage, unfiltered, unvarnished. Two performers open the door to life as a dancer: from the first casting call through gruelling rehearsals to opening night. Salsa, house, ballet and contemporary dance collide with memories, insider knowledge and everything that rarely gets said out loud in the dance world – about being different, about bodies, gender, disability. With tactile costumes, social media aesthetics, participatory dance sequences and integrated, creative audio description, Tanzselfies #unfiltered invites everyone to experience the stage in a new way – especially young blind and visually impaired people. With a open touch tour before every performance.
T.I.A. dance productions is a collective founded in 2023 at the intersection of socially engaged art practice and dance, led by queer, BiPoC, and disabled artists. It develops innovative, intersectional, and anti-ableist formats of accessibility and explores integrated creative audio description. T.I.A. connects diverse dance styles and perspectives, raises awareness among cultural institutions for inclusion, and has presented works at venues including Mousonturm, Implantieren Festival, and Riviera Festival.
